Frequently asked questions
What size is an iPhone 13 wallpaper?
iPhone 13 wallpapers should be 1170x2532 pixels (1170 wide by 2532 tall). That is the native resolution of the screen, so the image is shown pixel for pixel with nothing scaled or cropped.
Can I use a different size on an iPhone 13?
Yes, but the system will scale or crop it to fit. An image with a different shape loses its edges when it is filled to the screen, and a smaller image is enlarged and looks softer. Generating at 1170x2532 avoids both.
How do I make a 1170x2532 wallpaper?
Open the PattrnLab generator at 1170x2532, pick a pattern and palette, and download the PNG. It is rendered in your browser at exactly that size, so there is nothing to resize afterwards.
Which other devices use 1170x2532?
A 1170x2532 wallpaper also matches the iPhone 14, iPhone 12.
