Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 11, 2026

The short version: PattrnLab has no accounts and no server-side database of your wallpapers. Everything you create, favorite, or save to history is stored only in your own browser. This page explains exactly what that means and what limited analytics are collected instead.

What PattrnLab does not do

  • No account creation, no sign-up, no login.
  • No server-side storage of the wallpapers, colors, or text you create.
  • No selling, renting, or sharing of any personal data - none is collected to begin with.

What's stored locally, in your browser

Your active configuration, favorites, and recent history are saved in your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device - it isn't sent to any PattrnLab server, because there is no per-user server storage in this app. Clearing your browser data, or using the "Clear Storage & Reset" option in Settings, removes it completely.

Analytics

PattrnLab uses two analytics services to understand how the app is used in aggregate - never to identify you individually:

  • Google Analytics (GA4) - records anonymized interaction events (e.g. which pattern or palette was selected, which size was downloaded). GA4 sets its own cookies to distinguish sessions; you can block these with your browser's cookie settings or an ad blocker without affecting how PattrnLab works.
  • Vercel Web Analytics - cookieless page-view analytics used to see which pages get traffic.

Fonts

The interface font (Inter) is bundled with the app at build time. If you turn on text overlay for a wallpaper, the display fonts for that feature (Poppins, Bebas Neue, and others) are loaded on demand directly from Google Fonts' servers, which may see a request from your browser at that point - the same way any page using Google Fonts works.

Automated social media posts

PattrnLab periodically generates and publishes its own wallpapers to its social media accounts as part of an automated content pipeline. That system stores the configuration of the wallpapers it generates itself - it does not collect or store any data about visitors to this site.

Children's privacy

PattrnLab is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will change with it. Material changes will be reflected here directly - there's no mailing list to notify, since PattrnLab doesn't collect email addresses.
