About PattrnLab

PattrnLab is a free, no-signup wallpaper generator. It draws every wallpaper procedurally on a canvas - patterns, noise fields, and color palettes, combined with a seed so the same design can always be reproduced - and exports it as a PNG at the exact resolution you need, from a phone screen to a 32:9 ultrawide monitor. There's no account, no upload, and nothing about your wallpapers ever leaves your browser unless you choose to download or copy them.

Why it exists

General-purpose image generators are genuinely good at making a single striking image. Where they consistently fall short is wallpapers specifically: ask for the same design on your phone and then on your desktop, and you usually get two unrelated images instead of one design that fits both. Ask for something unusual - a 32:9 ultrawide monitor, for instance - and most people don't know how to prompt for it, and the result often doesn't fill the frame the way a wallpaper needs to.

PattrnLab exists to remove that trial and error. Every wallpaper is generated from a pattern, a palette, and a seed, at whatever exact resolution you ask for. Because the same seed and settings always reproduce the same design, you can render one look across every screen you own - phone, laptop, ultrawide - and it stays recognizably the same wallpaper, not a reinterpretation of it.

How it works

Every pattern is drawn with a seeded pseudo-random generator, so nothing is stored as a fixed image file behind the scenes - it's math, redrawn at whatever size the canvas is given. Pick a pattern, a color palette, and adjust complexity, smoothness, and contrast to taste. Add text from a library of preset phrases or your own custom line, in one of several bundled display fonts. Then export at a standard preset - 4K UHD, 21:9 ultrawide, 32:9 super-ultrawide, 16:10, QHD, FHD, or a mobile crop - or type in an exact custom resolution.
