Frequently asked questions
What size is an iPad mini (6th generation) wallpaper?
iPad mini (6th generation) wallpapers should be 1488x2266 pixels (1488 wide by 2266 tall). That is the native resolution of the screen, so the image is shown pixel for pixel with nothing scaled or cropped.
Can I use a different size on an iPad mini (6th generation)?
Yes, but the system will scale or crop it to fit. An image with a different shape loses its edges when it is filled to the screen, and a smaller image is enlarged and looks softer. Generating at 1488x2266 avoids both.
How do I make a 1488x2266 wallpaper?
Open the PattrnLab generator at 1488x2266, pick a pattern and palette, and download the PNG. It is rendered in your browser at exactly that size, so there is nothing to resize afterwards.
