Frequently asked questions
What size is a MacBook Pro 14-inch (2021 and later) wallpaper?
MacBook Pro 14-inch (2021 and later) wallpapers should be 3024x1964 pixels (3024 wide by 1964 tall). That is the native resolution of the screen, so the image is shown pixel for pixel with nothing scaled or cropped.
Can I use a different size on a MacBook Pro 14-inch (2021 and later)?
Yes, but the system will scale or crop it to fit. An image with a different shape loses its edges when it is filled to the screen, and a smaller image is enlarged and looks softer. Generating at 3024x1964 avoids both.
How do I make a 3024x1964 wallpaper?
Open the PattrnLab generator at 3024x1964, pick a pattern and palette, and download the PNG. It is rendered in your browser at exactly that size, so there is nothing to resize afterwards.
