Frequently asked questions
What size is a Google Pixel 8 wallpaper?
Google Pixel 8 wallpapers should be 1080x2400 pixels (1080 wide by 2400 tall). That is the native resolution of the screen, so the image is shown pixel for pixel with nothing scaled or cropped.
Can I use a different size on a Google Pixel 8?
Yes, but the system will scale or crop it to fit. An image with a different shape loses its edges when it is filled to the screen, and a smaller image is enlarged and looks softer. Generating at 1080x2400 avoids both.
How do I make a 1080x2400 wallpaper?
Open the PattrnLab generator at 1080x2400, pick a pattern and palette, and download the PNG. It is rendered in your browser at exactly that size, so there is nothing to resize afterwards.
Which other devices use 1080x2400?
A 1080x2400 wallpaper also matches the Google Pixel 7.
