Frequently asked questions
What size is an 8K monitor or TV wallpaper?
8K monitor or TV wallpapers should be 7680x4320 pixels (7680 wide by 4320 tall). That is the native resolution of the screen, so the image is shown pixel for pixel with nothing scaled or cropped.
Can I use a different size on an 8K monitor or TV?
Yes, but the system will scale or crop it to fit. An image with a different shape loses its edges when it is filled to the screen, and a smaller image is enlarged and looks softer. Generating at 7680x4320 avoids both.
How do I make a 7680x4320 wallpaper?
Open the PattrnLab generator at 7680x4320, pick a pattern and palette, and download the PNG. It is rendered in your browser at exactly that size, so there is nothing to resize afterwards.
